Case Study: The Practice that Jack built, with a little help from Plus

We spoke with Jack Robertson, Senior Partner at SJP, who has been a client since 2018. He told us his story of how he came to use Plus & how it has changed his working life for the better.
Jack had built up his Practice by attracting new business through seminars, which meant he was dealing with a high number of cases at any one time.
Throughout Jack’s 25 years of working in the industry, he was always under the impression that he needed to employ a secretary, or rather, someone who was multiskilled and who could assist him with all areas of support.
Unfortunately, with the introduction of RDR, it quickly became apparent that he needed to re-think his operation.
Not long after, he employed a full time paraplanner as well as the now 2 assistants he already had on his books, and by his own admission, his outgoings were increasing dramatically.
Over the next few years, Jack realised that the seminars he had come to value to engage new clients, were in fact being attended by the same people, who as the years went on, were aging with them. As a result, business began to slow down.
At that time, one of his assistants decided to retire, so he employed someone to work alongside her in order for her to take over the reins when the time came. His staff numbers had expanded, and therefore needed to lease a new property to provide adequate space – a further increase to his outgoings.
However he noticed that despite the increase in staff – and the slowing down of the business, even basic tasks were taking inordinate amounts of time. It was at this point he started talking to Plus.

Immediately, Jack noticed an improvement in his quality of documentation, in his own words, this went ‘through the roof’.
He also noted how his business operation was noticeably more efficient,
“Things that had taken 6 months previously to complete, were now taking 1 month”
A happy benefit of working with Plus, was that his exorbitant costs massively reduced, meaning his business was now in fact more profitable.
The value of this to Jack is immeasurable as he told us his motivation has always been to provide the best education he could for his children.
By his own admission this involves substantial school fees which had proved to be a burden when his other outgoings were so excessive.
But since the dramatic reduction in costs since taking advantage of Plus’ services, the pressure of these fees has been removed as his income increased.
“Two years ago, I was miserable & not making much profit, now I’m happier thanks to the absolutely excellent service from Martine & the Paraplanners”
Part of the attraction to our business, Jack said, was that he knows if his workload quadrupled, it would still be done with the same efficiency and quality as he is used to, without the need for him to worry about employing extra staff.
In conclusion, a successful partnership has been forged, and best of all a happy client with less to worry about!!
