Meet the Team – Denise Moxon
For our latest Meet the Team, we speak with Denise Moxon, one of our Quality Assurance Managers to find out a bit more about her.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I was never one of those children that had dreams of being anything in particular when they grew up, but I always knew I wanted to work with numbers. I have always enjoyed figures, even as a child!
How do you prefer to start your day?
I like to have a list of things to do, but in this job it is necessary to be able to adapt at short notice, so I factor in time for unexpected emails that need to be dealt with. But my essential to start my day is a cup of tea!!
What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?
I try to take quite a pragmatic approach to bad days, and not take things too personally. You can’t change what has happened, but you can address it and come up with a solution. I like to chalk them up to experience and move on.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
In normal circumstances, my partner and I like to visit National Trust and English Heritage sites, however sites that are open are limited at the moment. To give ourselves a change of scenery, we like to go on little adventures, driving to places we’ve never been before at random. We’ve found there is always plenty to see, and we’ve come across things we’ve never seen before.
I have also always enjoyed playing tabletop role playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons with my partner, family & friends, and find it a great form of escapism!
What is the first concert you ever went to?
Def Leppard in 1986 at what was then the NEC Arena in Birmingham, on their Hysteria tour, with a bunch of friends from Sixth form.
I went to see
I have been fortunate enough to go to a wide variety of concerts over the years, seeing bands such as Nickelback, Bon Jovi, The Corrs, Simple Minds & Queen with Adam Lambert. I was due to see Nickelback again this year, and can’t wait to be able to go to concerts again!
