News: Meet the Team – Clare Dale
May 30, 2021
For the return of our Meet the Team feature, we spoke with one of our most experienced Paraplanners, Clare Dale, to get a little insight into her life and background.
What led you to this career?
I took a job as an Office Junior with a local IFA Practice, with the intention of earning some money while I figured out what I wanted to do in terms of a career.
Quickly developing an interest in Financial Services, I was fortunate enough that the Managing Director took me under his wing. I worked my way up and became his PA, while he taught me about pensions and investments.
I enjoyed learning so much I progressed to taking my exams, achieving my Diploma in Financial Planning and moving into the field of Paraplanning.

What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?
I try to step away from the office at the end of a bad day, and leave it behind by focussing on and spending time with my family. Failing that, I find pouring a nice gin helps!!
What’s something that made you smile recently?
One of my best friends had a baby just over a week ago, but unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, her husband wasn’t able to be in the labour ward with her.
That night, me & my other best friend had a get together in my garden, and were enjoying a gin when we thought we’d keep my friend company while she was in labour by Facetiming her.
We had the best time singing Whitney Houston to her whilst in the hot tub, gin glasses in hand!
What’s a trip that changed you, and why?
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love Disney, but perhaps not as many know why.
As a child, my Dad owned a busy dental practice so we didn’t see him much. But myself, my brother, Mum & Dad went to Florida for 2 weeks & I just look back on that holiday with so much fondness. We had Dad all to ourselves for two whole weeks and it was just the 4 of us.
I will always think of Disney World, Florida as my happy place as I remember being so pleased to spend that time with my Dad.
In fact, anything Disney related brings back those wonderful memories, and I am hoping my daughter Isabella will think of it as her happy place too as she looks back on trips there when she’s older.
If you were the only human left on Earth, what would you do?
This actually sounds like my idea of Hell as I am such a sociable person!! I don’t enjoy my own company, I enjoy being around other people. I don’t think I’d know what to do with myself, I’d just get bored and drive myself crazy!!
